Join us in the shade structure for some fun nature projects. Fun for all ages but especially tailored for kids and families.

11:00 – 2:00   Assay Office Tours + Blacksmithing
Gold was locked in quartz rock buried deep in Eureka Peak. Come learn how miners went about locating the best veins and the process they used to extract the gold.  Then go to the Blacksmith shop to learn how important blacksmithing skills were in mining communities. Assay Office Open Everyday! 

8-9 pm   Evening Program -Wolverines!
Come learn about wolverines who historically lived in our park! These fascinating alpine animals are incredibly charismatic. Come hear some stories of local wolverines making the news. Meet in the amphitheater near site #70.

Saturday July 27th
10 & 11  Owl Programs - Jr Rangers 
Learn about the many owls that live in our region. See an impressive collection of owls, pellets and more! Sign up in the visitor’s center.

11:00 – 2:00   Assay Office, Blacksmith and Woodshop Demonstrations

Try your hand at woodworking and learn this critical, historic craft. See description above for Blacksmith and Assay Office.

Take a tour of the historic Moriarty House where a family of ten made their home during the exciting era of the gold rush.
